BIOGRAPHY

Herbert Lippert is an Austrian Kammersänger, Grammy Award winner and painter. He studied voice and music education and pursued painting with Adolf Frohner.

Throughout his international career as a tenor, painting remained a constant part of his artistic life.

Today, music and painting form a single creative field in his work: music becomes the impulse for painting, and painting becomes a visual response to music.

This dialogue has developed through cycles inspired by Franz Schubert and through contemporary works written for Lippert by Austrian composers including Rainer Bischof and Eduard Kutrowatz. In his recent painting, figuration and abstraction increasingly merge into a single pictorial language.
